PRESIDENT
Kate Novikov
Hi, I am Kate Novikov and I am thrilled to be serving as the Co-President for FPTO this year! I am a senior Kinesiology Pre Physical Therapy major originally from Los Angeles. I have been a member of FPTO since freshman year and have been on the executive board since my sophomore year. FPTO has been the most helpful informational source to prepare me for my future and I am eager to get further involved with the organization to help others learn as well. I have volunteered/worked at six different physical therapy settings which have helped me gain first-hand experience of the profession. Some fun facts about me are that I have been a dancer since the age of 3 and I love to travel.

Ashley Thomas
Hi! My name is Ashley Thomas, and I am so excited to be taking on the role of Co-President of FPTO this year. I am a senior majoring in Kinesiology Pre-Physical Therapy, and this will be my second year on the FPTO executive board. Throughout my undergraduate career, I’ve explored various specialties, including Women’s Health, Outpatient Orthopaedics, Neurological, Pediatrics, Sports, Hand Therapy and Acute Rehabilitation. FPTO has provided me with an inclusive and supportive community of dedicated Pre-Physical Therapy students that inspire me to pursue my dreams. I look forward to growing our community and supporting my peers in their academic and professional journey to becoming physical therapists. We are so excited to share all the opportunities we have planned for this upcoming year!

Ashley Johnson
My name is Ashley Johnson! I am so excited to be vice president for FPTO 2024. I am a senior kinesiology pre PT major with a certificate in health communications. I am originally from Reno, NV. I have been a part of FPTO for 3 years now and served on the board for 2. I love FPTO and all it has to offer! It has allowed SDSU to be a little smaller for me and I am forever grateful for that! It has become full circle to me to serve on this board as vice president for my final year of undergraduate!

Talia Solovei
Hi! My name is Talia Solovei (she/her) and I am thrilled to serve as this year's FPTO Treasurer! I am a third year Kinesiology: Pre-Physical Therapy major from San Jose, CA, and have been on the executive board since the second semester of my freshman year. Growing up as a competitive dancer, an unlucky bout of injuries landed me in physical therapy, where I saw my passions of movement and helping others intersect in a meaningful way; now I am so excited to be transitioning to the other side of the dynamic. FPTO has provided me with a community of driven and passionate peers who want to see everyone succeed, and I cannot wait to continue to develop this warm culture and inspire the next generation of future physical therapists!

Alexa Kennedy
Hi everyone, my name is Alexa Kennedy and I can’t wait to serve as your Co-Secretary this year! I have been a member of FPTO since my freshman year, and I can’t wait to close out my time at SDSU as a part of this board. I’m from the east bay, and I grew up playing soccer and swim (where my passion for PT started). I can’t wait for this year, and I hope to bring the same opportunities and fun that made me fall in love with this organization!

Damian Perez
My name is Damian Perez and I am one of FPTO’s Co-Secretary’s this year! Im a senior now and had I learned about this club sooner in college, I would’ve joined immediately! I am so grateful for the organization as it has helped me reach my goals of applying to DPT school while meeting a bunch of great like minded individuals along the way. I have worked in different physical therapy clinics back in my hometown of Orange County, CA where I saw many different sports injuries as well as workers compensation clientele. I am very excited for the future of FPTO and hope to meet new people who share the same passion along the way!

Manon Balas
Hi everyone, my name is Manon Balas and I can’t wait to serve as your Event Coordinator this year! I am a senior majoring in Kinesiology, Pre PT from Palo Alto, CA. I have been a member of FPTO since my freshman year, and I can’t wait to continue being part of this club. FPTO has helped me broaden my understanding of the career and has helped me find new friendships with people in my classes! I grew up dancing (where I found my passion for PT), and I am currently exploring the possibility of working as a PT with dancers in the future. I can’t wait to meet new members and plan fun events for this semester!

I’ve been very grateful for my time spent as a member of the organization and I’m looking forward to giving back to it. Sarah Iter
Hi everyone! My name is Sarah Iter and I am your FPTO Social Media Coordinator! I joined FPTO my freshman year and absolutely loved it. I loved that it gave me a sense of community and a place where i can feel supported through my academic journey. As a sophomore, I joined the FPTO board because I wanted to make a difference in other people’s academic careers and provide them with resources to be successful in the future! I cannot wait to see what this year has in store for us and am excited to learn and grow together:)
